Our apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are a great alternative to university, an excellent opportunity for you to gain hands-on practical experience and the perfect way to start your career.

Paralegal Trailblazer Apprenticeship

During our paralegal apprenticeship, you'll work alongside some of the UK's biggest companies and learn from some of the best lawyers in their field – all while earning good money. And you won't have to sacrifice your social life, either.

Training and Development

You'll learn to conduct legal research, go to networking events and get hands-on with clients – developing your skills and opening doors for your future. What's more, our apprenticeships also incorporate CILEx training in law and legal practice, giving you the opportunity to gain nationally-recognised qualifications.

Our paralegal apprenticeship lasts two years. Once you've successfully completed the apprenticeship, you could have the option to:

Continue your career as a paralegal

Undertake an additional four year apprenticeship to become a chartered legal executive

Commence an additional six year apprenticeship and become a solicitor

Business Services Apprenticeship

If you are unsure of what career path to take and would like to explore a variety of opportunities, getting involved in diverse and exciting work, then our Business Services Apprenticeship is for you. This programme is bespoke to Gowling WLG and is delivered in conjunction with BMet. It is one year in duration and will provide you with the opportunity to spend six months in two different Business Services teams, choosing from:

Business Information Systems (IT)

Business Development and Corporate Communications

Human Resources

Following the successful completion of this one year programme you will have obtained a City and Guilds accredited Business Administration Apprenticeship with an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Accreditation. At this point you will have a career conversation where it may be possible for you to secure a permanent role within one of our Business Services Teams and continue your studies by completing a further apprenticeship.
